Kills: adult fleas and ticks on contact before they lay eggs. Does not require
biting to work.
Delivery: TopSpot version is a premeasured liquid that is applied to the skin between the
shoulder
blades for dogs and on the back of the neck for cats. The liquid is stored in
the sebaceous glands
underneath the skin and is reapplied to the hair follicles. The Spray version
uses a pump to apply
the liquid onto your pet's coat which is then massaged in.
Frequency of application: once a month
Reapplication: not recommended
Resistance to bathing: yes, effectiveness survives bathing, swimming and exposure to
sunlight
Minimum age: safe for puppies and kittens
Maximum age: none
Speed: kills fleas within 12-18 hours. Kills ticks within 18-48 hours.
Seasonal use: begin a few weeks prior to flea season and discontinue after season is over.
In some
temperate and tropical climates, it can be used all year long.

Kills: adult fleas and larvae by attacking the nervous system
Delivery: premeasured liquid applied to the skin between the shoulder blades for dogs and
on the
back of the neck for cats. The liquid migrates along the surface of the skin
to the rest of the body.
Frequency of application: once a month
Reapplication: up to once a week if bathing or water exposure is excessive
Resistance to bathing: yes, effectiveness survives moderate bathing, swimming and exposure
to
sunlight
Minimum age: kittens 8 weeks old and puppies 7 weeks old
Maximum age: none
Speed: begins killing fleas and larvae on the animal in 20 minutes. 98-100%
effectiveness in
12 hours. New fleas (from outdoors or other sources) are killed within 2
hours.
